"This entire thing we're involved with called the world, is an opportunity to exhibit how exciting alienation can be. [...] The world is an exam to see if we can rise into direct experience. Our eyesight is here as a test to see if we can see beyond it. Matter is here as a test for our curiosity. Doubt is here as an exam for our vitality."

I’M ABLE TO TREAT PEOPLE FOR PRIVATE PAY OR WITH PRIVATE INSURANCE.

MY PRACTICE IS A PRIVATE PRACTICE AND NOT BASED ON A CONTRACT WITH HEALTH INSURANCE. THUS, I’M NOT ASSOCIATED TO THE TELEMATIC INFRASTRUCTURE. YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS NOT GOING TO BE VISIBLE IN YOUR ELECTRONIC HEALTH FILE THAT CAN BE ASSESSED BY OTHER “SERVICE PROVIDERS” OF THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM.

FOR PRIVATELY INSURED PEOPLE

The cost for psychotherapy is going to be reimbursed (partly) by your private health insurance or your insurance scheme for state employees. Often, at least the 2,3 fold charge rate according to GOP which is at 92,50€ will be covered. However, many insurance schemes will cover the 2,8 fold charge rate (112,60€) if provided with a justification.

As public insurance schemes currently pay 112,30€ per session (session prices keep rising due to inflation), my adjusted fee is 115€ per session for new clients, even if insurance coverage is below that amount.

Reimbursment for psychotherapy usually needs to be applied for. You will then have to see a doctor in order to get a consiliar report that has to be handed in to your insurance company together with the application. Before the actual application, thus our decision to work together, there will be maximum 5 “testing session” for getting to know each other (if you wish so, it can be less than 5).

PRIVATE INSURANCE COMPANIES

Usually psychotherapy is contained in the scope of services of private insurance companies. However, there may be limitations such as that psychotherapy is only going to be reimbursed if you turn to a medical psychotherapist. Some insurance companies ask for an extensive report which is assessed by one of their consultants who approve or reject our application for psychotherapy. Even in the (rare) case of rejection, an objection can be filed.

BEFORE STARTING THERAPY, IT MAKES SENSE TO ASK THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS TO YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY:

  • Is psychotherapy with a licensed psychological psychotherapist included in the scope of services?
  • Are probationary sessions before starting therapy going to be reimbursed?
  • Are there limitations in reimbursement and to which extent is the cost going to be refunded?
  • Do they ask for an official report to be assessed by their consultants in the approval process?

INSURANCE SCHEME FOR STATE EMPLOYEES

Psychotherapy is included in the insurance scheme for state employees. A report for their consultants is requested including a consiliar report, the cost for writing the report will be refunded. There is supplementary insurance for state employees available that will cover additional costs and payment lacks resulting from your basic insurance scheme.

FOR Private pay

If you are covering the cost for psychotherapy privately, you can have an initial session at a reduced fee of 80€, the cost of any further sessions will be at 115€ per session

If you are in trouble covering the cost for treatment but are still interested, please turn to me. Your expenses for psychotherapy will result in a financial bonus in your income tax – you have to hand them in in the category “unusual strains”. A certain contingent of sessions may be (partly) reimbursed through a supplementary insurance for alternative practitioners (“Heilpraktiker”). Please ask your insurance company about their conditions.

TO COVER THE COST FOR PSYCHOTHERAPY YOURSELF MIGHT RESULT IN THE FOLLOWING ADVANTAGES

  • no burocracy
  • no or short waiting times, appointments will take place according to your needs
  • high flexibility according to number and frequency of sessions, double sessions are possible as well as contacts on the phone
  • YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE DIAGNOSED
    • no disadvantages if you want to get a life insurance, an occupational disability insurance or a private health insurance – there won’t be additional cost for “increased risk” resulting from a psychological diagnosis
    • no influence on becoming a state employee
